What can Candela GMAX Pro treat?
GMAX Pro – can be used to treat a variety of different skin conditions such as facial redness, broken capillaries, acne, enlarged pores, brown spots and unwanted pigmentation as well fine lines and wrinkles
How many GMAX Pro treatments to see a result?
It is likely visible results will be seen from as little as 1-3 treatments, for treatments such as pigmentation removal, and normally 4-6 treatments for diffuse redness and skin tightening treatments - although further treatments maybe required depending on the condition that is being treated
Can anyone have this treatment?
GMAX Pro consists of 2 wavelengths giving us the ability to treat all skin types. The first wavelength Alexandrite 755nm is best suited for lighter skin types, as thermal laser light is directed onto the surface of the skin producing rapid heat which is not always suitable for darker skin types. The second wavelength Nd YAG 1064nm, penetrates deeper into the skin with less melanin absorption allowing for safer treatments on darker skin types. Both wavelengths can be used to treat a variety of skin concerns such as unwanted sunspots and freckles, diffuse redness, flushing and vascular lesions, as well as medical grade laser hair removal
Does it hurt?
GMAX Pro is a minimally invasive procedure, which produces heat and warmth similar to being flicked by an elastic band
How long does it take for GMAX Pro to heal?
For the first 24 hours redness is present on the skin, sunspots become noticeably darker, before they continue to lighten and or fall off over a period of 1-2 weeks. Most return to work the next day, with any redness and pigmentation able to be covered by mineral makeup
Can GMAX Pro make dark spots worse?
GMAX Pro is best suited for superficial sun spots such as freckles and sun damage on fairer skins. If you are a darker skin or suffer from melasma, then GMAX Pro is most likely NOT the most suitable treatment as it heats up the surrounding tissue and melanin in darker skin types and can actually make it worse. We recommend our Enlighten SR Picogenesis treatment instead.
What parts of the body can be treated?
Popular areas to treat are face, neck, chest/décolletage and backs of hands. Other areas that can also be treated are forearms and the upper back to remove superficial sun damage and improve the overall appearance of the skin. This treatment can also be used on stretchmarks and surgical scars anywhere on the body
